Code of Honor

The Nevada Department of Education’s stance on academic integrity is known as the Code of Honor. Also available in Spanish.

Educational Accord

The Nevada State Board of Education recognizes that parental involvement is the key to academic achievement. Studies demonstrate that when parents are involved in their children’s education, the attitudes, behaviors, and achievement of students are positively enhanced. The Educational Accord is mandated by the state Parent Involvement Policy as well as with the federal No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act of 2001.

Growth and Development

Your child’s body is developing at a rapid rate, and it might often seem difficult to speak with him or her about adolescent development. CCSD, using materials provided by P&G provides information to 5th grade boys and girls to help them prepare for this stage in life. Materials used in this program were reviewed by the American Association for Health Education and specially designed for 5th grade students. These materials help educators teach the important topics of puberty and development.

Permission slips are sent home prior to students participating in the program. If you, as a parent of a 5th grade student, would like to review any of the materials used in the presentation, you may do so by visiting the Always Changing® Program website, or by stopping in at the school office. The website has downloadable brochures, videos, and transcripts.
